Clarins Advice

Diet

Long live balance

A balanced diet without forbidden fruits but one that remains varied and light on sugar and fats, avoids nutritional deficiencies, tiredness, concentration difficulties and poor skin quality… How do you lose weight? Reduce quantities. How do you stay slim?
Find the right balance between your daily physical activity and calorie intake.

Meal time pleasure

Make sure you always lay the table properly at meal times and sit down to eat. Avoid snacking but never miss out on a meal. If you need to have the impression of a full plate, cut food into strips and serve yourself from the dish. Make sure you treat yourself once a week to your favourite cake, chocolate or savoury dish. Enjoy every mouthful and then prepare a lighter dish for your next meal.

Eating… to satiety

Rediscover feelings of hunger and satiety. If you no longer feel hungry, then stop eating. You'll quickly learn how to reduce your portions.
Eat slowly and carefully and you'll feel satisfied more quickly.

Great… an invitation out!

Enjoy your event without feeling guilty. Eat lighter the next day without skipping any meals. Don't weigh yourself immediately, wait a few days before checking up on your progress.

Fight snacking

Brush your teeth after every meal. Feel like a snack?
Make yourself a cup of tea or try a herbal variety… without sugar. A favourite trick is to keep an unflattering photograph of yourself close at hand to fight off weak moments (you can even try sticking it on the fridge door !). The best way to avoid temptation is not to buy those irresistible products in the first place.

A kilo of feathers, a kilo of lead…

Same weight, different volume! It's the same for food. The same number of calories can satisfy you or leave you feeling hungry. For example, 100 calories = 1 glass of wine, 10 oysters, 1kg of tomatoes, 1 knob of butter, 3 biscuits , 400g of asparagus or 5 lumps of sugar…

Avoid the easy traps

« Finishing off » children's meals.
Snacking bread on the way home from the bakery.
Going shopping on an empty stomach… you'll want to buy everything!
Opening the fridge at every stressful moment. Phone a friend instead or write your troubles down on a piece of paper.
